TRADITIONAL ARTISANAL SUGAR
Romanengo artisanal sugared almonds represent the excellence of Genoese confectionery since 1780. Avola almonds, Bronte pistachios, Italian pine nuts and precious spices are transformed into precious sugared almonds through traditional techniques passed down through generations.
A UNIQUE VARIETY OF FLAVORS
Our production of artisanal sugar-coated sweets ranges from classic Avola almond dragées to the more refined Bronte pistachio dragées. Each sugar-coated sweets is made in ancient copper basins, where the slow and constant rotation allows the sugar to layer evenly around the core of selected nuts and seeds.
Traditional assorted Genoese sugared almonds embody centuries of experience: scented almonds, toasted almonds, sugared cinnamon bark, sugared pine nuts and sugared Bronte pistachios. This variety testifies to the creativity of master confectioners who have transformed simple ingredients into small works of confectionery art.
SELECTION OF RAW MATERIALS
The quality of our artisanal sugar-coated sweets begins with the selection of raw materials. We exclusively use premium grade Avola almonds, renowned for their sweet flavor and crunchy texture. The pistachios come from the slopes of Mount Etna, where the volcanic soil gives them an unmistakable aroma. Italian pine nuts and selected spices such as cardamom seeds, fennel seeds and coffee beans complete our range of high-quality sugared almonds.
THE ARTISANAL PROCESS IN COPPER BASINS
The sugar coating process requires mastery and patience: in the copper basins, the seeds are moistened with sugar syrup and acacia resin and rotated for hours. Layer by layer, the sugared almond takes shape, achieving the perfect balance between the crunchy core and the sugar coating. Our sugared almonds maintain a thin layer of sugar that enhances, without masking, the natural flavor of the nuts.
