The Crops
The Cascina’s land is home to arable crops, orchards, a vineyard, and a hazelnut grove, alongside rows of trees, flowering areas, and spaces dedicated to agricultural research and experimentation.
The arable fields include oats, wheat, fava beans, common beans, and hay crops, while the flowering areas are home to violets, roses, and edible flowers. The orchards include apricot, plum, cherry, and loquat trees, contributing to the farm’s richness and biodiversity.
THE RECOVERY OF NIBÒ
One of the Cascina’s most significant projects is the recovery of Nibò, an ancient indigenous grape variety from Alto Monferrato that had almost disappeared. The Cascina contributes to its preservation and enhancement, safeguarding an important part of the local agricultural heritage.
