OUR VISION

“I cannot look at a tree leaf without
being overwhelmed by the universe”

VICTOR HUGO

Safeguarding and passing on common goods

Since as far back as 1780, Romanengo has always based its development on the enhancement of natural raw materials such as fruit, plants and flowers, through the work of its artisans and its recipes.

These are the true common goods that we wish to continue to pass on, because we believe they are still contemporary and represent a valid alternative to offer to the world in which we live.

Balance between production and consumption

We believe this world must rediscover a better balance between an exacerbated production system and a production and consumption model that is more inclusive of universal values such as handmade, short supply chains, quality, and time.

Genoa: our roots

Romanengo, moreover, has been influenced by its geographical position, and its history is intertwined with that of its city, Genoa, whose fortunes are dictated by its location, overlooking the sea and nestled among valleys and hills rich in forests.

It is in this territory that we can find a great variety of fruits, such as chinotto or orange, and flowers, such as the rose and the violet, along with what merchants brought back from their long voyages: recipes and spices.

The Genoese territory has therefore deeply influenced our savoir-faire and our traditions: it is a long and fruitful relationship between history and geography, to be entirely cherished.

Reconnect with nature

Our artisans, "guardians" of this culture, pass on the beauty, diversity, and health benefits of a nature that is now suffocated and increasingly unknown to humankind. We therefore wish to restore the connection with nature and biodiversity in our workshops.

OUR REASON FOR BEING

Therefore, we will grow by preserving and enhancing our artisan skills, which base innovation on experience, and whose ultimate goal is a greater understanding of nature and our production values. This is a great challenge in our contemporary world; this is our philosophy; this is our raison d'être.

Nature preserved in a gesture.
