Cookie policy
Pietro Romanengo fu Stefano S.r.l., with registered and operational headquarters in Genoa, Via Soziglia, 76-76 r, email info@romanengo.pro, as Data Controller, informs users of the website www.romanengo.pro (the "Website") that it uses cookies or other tracking elements.
Pietro Romanengo fu Stefano S.r.l. has defined this policy to provide users with information and ensure transparency, informing them about:
- the origin and purpose of the information processed when the user browses the Website;
- their rights in relation to cookies and other tracking elements used by Pietro Romanengo fu Stefano S.r.l., the type of cookies used and the purposes pursued with the acquired information.
What is a cookie?
A "cookie" is a small text file created by some websites on the user's computer when they access a specific site, with the purpose of storing and transporting information. Cookies are sent from a web server (which is the computer running the website visited) to the user's browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, etc.) and stored on the latter's computer; they are then re-sent to the website during subsequent visits.
Some operations could not be performed without the use of cookies, which, in some cases, are therefore technically necessary. In other cases, the site uses cookies to facilitate and streamline user navigation or to allow them to use specifically requested services.
Cookies can remain in the system for long periods and can also contain a unique identification code. This allows sites that use them to track user navigation within the site itself, for statistical or advertising purposes, i.e., to create a personalized user profile based on the pages visited and then show and/or send targeted advertising (so-called Behavioral Advertising).
Types of cookies
Depending on their purpose, cookies can be divided into the following categories:
- Technical cookies: enable or facilitate user navigation (e.g., by automatically recognizing the browsing language) or allow for the provision of a service requested by the user (e.g., home banking). They may expire at the end of a browser session (the period between the user opening a browser window and closing it) or may be stored for a longer period. Technical cookies can be: Session cookies: allow websites to link a user's actions during a browser session. Session cookies expire when the browser session ends and are therefore not stored for long. For this reason, session cookies can be considered less intrusive from a privacy perspective than persistent cookies. Persistent cookies: are stored on a user's device between browser sessions and allow for the storage of user choices or actions regarding a site (or in some cases regarding different websites).
- Analytics cookies: are a particular type of cookie that website operators use to collect statistical information in an aggregated manner (e.g., the number of visitors to a website).
- Profiling cookies: monitor user browsing activity in order to create a profile. They allow, for example, to see which web pages have been visited by the user, what has been purchased, etc. Profiling can be done in relation to tastes, habits, consumption choices, and more, or to send personalized advertising for a specific product (so-called "Behavioral Advertising").
First-party and third-party cookies
A cookie is defined as "first-party" or "third-party" based on the website or domain from which it originates. First-party cookies are, in essence, cookies set by a website visited by the user or by a website displayed in the URL window, in this case, by the Website. Third-party cookies are cookies set by a domain other than the one visited by the user. A third-party cookie is when a user visits a website and a third-party company sets a cookie through that site.
We use cookies to support user activities within the Website, for example, their session (so they don't have to log in every time) or their shopping cart.
Cookies are also used to understand user preferences based on activity within the website (pages visited), language, and country, which allows us to improve the services provided.
While browsing, users may also receive cookies from different sites (so-called "third-party" cookies) on their device, set directly by the operators of said websites and used for the purposes and in the manner defined by them.

Third-party cookies
While browsing the Website, the User may also receive cookies from third-party websites or web servers on their device (so-called "third-party" cookies): this happens because the Website may contain elements such as images, maps, sounds, specific links to web pages of other domains that reside on servers different from the one where the requested page is located. In other words, these cookies are set directly by operators of websites or servers other than the Website. These third parties could theoretically set cookies while you visit the Website and thus obtain information related to your visit. You will find more information on the use of cookies by accessing the indicated link. If the User decides not to consent to the storage of third-party cookies, the User will only be able to use the functions of the Website that do not require the storage of such cookies.
